| Mnarani Primary School is situated within Mnarani
Village Kilifi sixty kilometres North of Mombasa. The late D. Wilson, a third
generation Kenyan farmer of British origin who settled in Kilifi, founded it in
1969. |

D Wilson the
grandson of F.O'B Wilson who settled in Kenya in 1910 to farm ostriches,
but later turned to dairying. |
| He started the school in response to educational needs of the many local
children in the area, as there was no other primary school serving the
community. His son Christopher
Wilson is the Chairman of the current Schools Development Committee. The school
has since grown to an enrolment of over 1200 children today.
